Ready, set, shed … “MIND” - fully
It’s Sunday. Ah, a beautiful day up here in Pine, Colorado. And, I am sure everywhere else, virtually, you can create this kind of reality :o)
Let’s have a moment, two, three to actually feel our seat bones ,and the support underneath. Ah, and perhaps, let’s invite a deeper sigh. Feeling the feet, the thigh bones settling in. A moment to take a deeper breath, and relax any tension that your belly might be holding. Smile. We are almost at the place where we can invite, one hand on the heart as you take a deeper breath, and bring the other one on top. Ha. Your collarbones are witnessing the invitation as you take another deeper breath to ground into this moment. I promise to have a moment and close my eyes as I take one more breath, MINDFULLY. I mean, on the next in hale, notice the state of your MIND, and FULLY exhale.
I had a very interesting, and quite enlightening conversation with a friend that asked about mindfulness. We were at a local tea place having tea. She was about to have a sip of tea, and asked: “what are your thoughts on mindfulness?” So, I took a few breaths, and smiled. She got super anxious, and said: “you are making me nervous! Did I ask something way too personal?” So, I closed my eyes, and took a few more moments to genuinely drop into my heart, and smiled again. I opened my eyes, and saw her hands on the heart, and super curious of what’s going on in my being…With a gentle smile, I asked:”how was your experience of mindfulness for the past 30 seconds?”. She started to cry.
It’s an experience of your awareness educating you about your thoughts, feelings, sensations, stories ,trauma, triggers, parents, partners, friends, ancestors and your own relationship with yourself. Now, that you have a breath or two, you are educating yourself and the other person how you feel in your physical body as you check in all the stories that pass through…”What a phenomenal experience in 30 seconds of breathing or not breathing, your awareness educated you and me about the entrance of how mindfulness works”, I said.
She continued crying as I held space. Safety is another word as you sit on the table with mindfulness. Quite the miraculous power when you fully arrive to have another sip of this delicious tea.
Mindfulness is magic. Once you open the heart to drink the magical elixir in your daily life with love and care, you get to experience the benefits of transformation.
Curiosity opens the door to mindfulness. Exploring the light of wisdom within the darkness of confusion is the alchemy of being seen, being held, and being supported. What a beautiful and epic journey of discovering what mindfulness gifts us when you embrace it in our lives.
Mindfulness has been one of the best dance floors for my client’s work as they explore their body’s innate wisdom of experiencing the freedom of movement in each of our sacred play sessions. As we get to tune into our trauma transformational trance dance, we get to foster mindfulness that allows us to weave negative physical and emotional patterns into positive movement and spiritually supportive patterns. Inviting new steps through breath and mindful movement, we create a very sacred playground to alchemize any automatic responses to opportunities of growth and healing.
Now, ah, yes, the power of this breath, and your mind fully engaging to cultivate more mindfulness. Perhaps, next time you have a sip of water, you have a moment to bless it, and feel the difference of the mind fully in the power of the blessings you are opening to receive. Hydrating mindfully, you get to realize that you are not just the sip but you are in fact the water.
My invitation for this lovely Sunday, or whatever day happens to be when you are reading this is to notice your breath, your state of mind, and drop into the heart of whatever is next…can you witness yourself as being the witness of your mind, your breath, your being in choice to live more mindfully?
You have this beautiful body–your fine tune instrument–a rhythmic symphony of cells orchestrating every choice either by being distracted or fully engaged, enjoying your heart’s song of bringing more peace or passion to whatever you are here to leave as legacy.
Until next week, I trust you explore what mindfully truly brings to you and all the people enjoying the benefits of you stepping deeply into this magical journey of inner discovery.
Bowing in “mind” full of gratitude for your time and energy to have a moment and “sip” a tea or water with me,
